Due to expansion, we are looking for talented and like-minded people to join the QA family in both our Sydney and Melbourne offices. This expansion represents an exciting continuation of the development and growth of our company, with 7 new employees joining us in 2018 alone.
We recently sat down with Sergio Floyd, Managing Director, Warren Rushbrook, Managing Partner | Northern Region and Nick Hutchinson, Managing Partner| Southern Region to talk about the current climate, opportunities available and what to expect from being a part of the QA team.
Why are you looking to grow the team?
WR – We are fortunate insofar as the vast majority of our work is repeat business with a diverse range of industry-leading clients. All of our clients are concerned that their aspirations for growth will be limited by their ability to attract top talent to their organisation. In order to deliver to our clients, we need to mirror their aspirations and grow our capacity. We are also keen to diversify into adjacent and complementary markets, as well as bring new ideas to QA. The underlying driver is we see long-term, sustainable growth in Australia as we work with our clients to deliver a huge infrastructure and buildings pipeline.
What kind of experience is desirable for the roles you have on offer?
NH - QA is a values-based business with professionalism, honesty and integrity as values that we do not compromise on. The business relationships we create and sustain are critical to our success – so anyone who holds these principles would align with our style and culture. We also like to have a bit of fun at work and don’t take ourselves too seriously!
Technical experience is also a key consideration – as a professional consulting organization, our clients and senior candidates expect us to intimately know the sectors we work in and more importantly, the players within. A combination of professional consulting and in-house experience (corporate or project level) make up the desired background, otherwise, experience across executive consulting in the engineering, construction or property sectors are of interest.
What skills do want new team members to bring to QA?
WR – We’re always looking to improve how we operate and innovate. The existing QA team has deep construction, property and infrastructure industry experience. Market knowledge that is complementary to the current team would be fantastic, but equally as valuable would be new people that bring new ideas to positively challenge how we operate.
Why should leading industry professionals consider joining Quinton Anthony?
NH – Executive Search is a fascinating and rewarding sector to work in. It commands a strong commitment to establish and maintain key business relationships which require high energy and the ability to multi-task. In turn, this offers self-development and business partnership opportunities to strategize and influence with decision makers in organisations. For senior industry professionals, the variety of important tasks and ability to partner with senior people to promote our industry insights and knowledge is personally and professionally rewarding. Having worked “on both sides of the fence”, I personally appreciate this variety and find it stimulating and exciting. Each day is different and each day we grow and enhance as executive search professionals.
In terms of employee benefits, they are second to none. I haven’t worked anywhere that has provided such innovative, industry-leading benefits: unlimited paid annual leave, paid family leave, the revolutionary QA Domestic & Family Violence Support Package, annual individual training & development budgets and the QA Profit Share Scheme, just to name a few.
What is the long-term vision for Quinton Anthony?
SF - Since our inception 12 years ago, our vision of who we are, what we stand for and how we wish to be considered has remained consistent. We are very proud of the values that sit behind our firm and provide the foundations for us to execute our broader vision. Likewise, the evolution of our business proposition has been and continues to be an ongoing blend of planning and opportunism. It is important we retain both the surety of our robust business planning practices whilst remaining adaptable to changing circumstances and the exciting opportunities these provide.
As such, we see an opportunity to bring like-minded professionals into our firm that thrive in an environment of trust and ownership that can facilitate the ongoing growth and diversification of our Executive Search and Professional Search practices, both in discipline and region.
Our growth will be determined by the hiring of incredible people that share our vision. A vision based on deep relationships, industry expertise and credibility. For our vision to be realised, it will be through the nurturing of our existing talent and the acquisition of a very select group that embrace and enhance our proposition.
Our Business Consulting firm has also experienced sustained growth under the stewardship of Sophie Schaedel, which we anticipate will continue to receive accolades from industry whilst facilitating our ongoing diversification into new business streams.
The culmination of this will be a robust and diverse national organisation, owned and led by its employees and respected for the positive influence it has on industry through the holistic service offering it provides.
How would you describe the culture of Quinton Anthony?
SF - Supportive, balanced, conscientious, collaborative, resilient, respectful, innovative, genuine.
