MEET OUR NEW TEAM MEMBER

Author: Cole Dziatkewich/Thursday, August 28, 2025/Categories: Quinton Anthony

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND.

I’m originally from a small beach town in New Zealand called Mount Maunganui. After completing university in Wellington, I spent a year working in engineering recruitment before moving to Sydney. I’ve now been in recruitment for about four years, working both internally and externally, with most of my experience focused on commercial construction here in Australia.

WHAT INITIALLY ATTRACTED YOU TO JOIN QA?

What initially attracted me to join QA was their strong reputation for quality work and their extensive network within the construction industry. QA is a brand I’ve come across many times over the years, and I knew it was a company where I could grow, learn, and contribute.

WHAT SKILLS DO YOU BRING TO THE QA TEAM?

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, majoring in Human Resources/Industrial Relations, Management, and International Business. This academic background has provided me with a strong theoretical understanding of business practices and people management from a tertiary perspective. Coupled with my professional experience in recruitment, this has equipped me for a career in the talent acquisition/ recruitment space and laid a strong foundation for success in the early stages of my career.

HOW DO YOU BALANCE YOUR CAREER AT QA WITH LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK?

I’m lucky to have a great support network both personally and professionally, which definitely helps. But for me, balance and setting clear boundaries between work and personal life are the keys to making it all work.

IF YOU COULD INSTANTLY BECOME AN EXPERT IN SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF PROFESSIONALLY IN 5 YEARS?

In five years, I’d like to be known as a go-to person in the Talent and HR space within the commercial construction industry, someone people trust for honest advice, industry insight, and long-term support. I want to keep building strong relationships and growing my expertise along the way.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED, AND HOW HAS IT IMPACTED YOUR LIFE?

The best advice I’ve ever received is to “eat the frog”, which means to tackle the hardest or most important task first. This has helped me get through university and has been just as valuable in my career. It stops me from procrastinating on challenging tasks, and once it’s done, I feel a huge sense of relief and can focus on everything else with a clear mind.
